Need something that can fit easily in a carry-on? Resistance bands are your best bet. "I always bring a set of fabric bands with me to use on vacation. When there are no weights or a gym I can always rely on these bands to help me sweat it out," says Brianna Joye, a fitness trainer and the founder of the BOLD by Brianna Joye app. "They come in three different resistances so you’re able to choose how intense you want to feel the burn."

"I love Bala Bangles because they're both extremely lightweight and are so cute! You can tone your upper and lower body just by throwing them on during your workout," Joyce says. Fitness instructor and model Courteney Fisher agrees: "Wear your Bala Bangles while doing low-impact workouts such as Pilates, or even just for a walk to get coffee before you start your day." she says. "These portable arm weights/ankle weights are easy to pack and will add resistance to your workout."

Feeling stiff after spending hours sitting on a plane or train? Opt for these resistance band gloves. "This travel-friendly resistance band can easily fit into any bag or purse and is great for supporting posture after long days on the road. It's uniquely designed to keep the bands secure in your hands while you strengthen your upper back, shoulders, and arms. It can be used from practically anywhere while standing or on a mat," says Maeve McEwen, the lead trainer and director of programming at P.volve.

Whether you're hiking during your honeymoon or going for a jog on the beach, staying hydrated is essential to any wellness plan. In order to get your daily dose of H2O, Joyce recommends this water bottle that motivates you to sip throughout the day by drinking a certain amount of water at specified times (written on the bottle). "This will keep your metabolism up to par on vacation," she says.

Keep your legs strong with this convenient ankle band. "The velcro straps keep the band from sliding around your ankles which allows for more versatile moments," McEwen points out. "The light resistant band is great in leg lifts to target your glutes and thighs, your core or can be worn during cardio movements such as jumping jacks or skaters for extra resistance. It's compact enough to fit in your carry-on and provides tons of movements you can do from your hotel room."

Resistance bands are a favorite among fitness professionals, and it's not hard to see why. "I love resistance bands for many reasons, but the main one is that they take up literally no space and act as a firecracker to any workout," says Fisher. "Toss on a resistance band to intensify any low impact strength workout," she recommends.

"The most important thing is to find something that will keep you engaged," says Burke. She recommends creating a portable workout space with just a few simple tools. "My personal gym is less than $100 and can travel anywhere," she says. "Mat, weights, bands, towel, water bottle, a favorite digital app—that's it. Maybe headphones or a portable speaker."

You'll also want to consider lightweight and versatile products that can easily be transported, whether that's in a backpack or in your carry-on luggage. For instance rubber resistance bands like the Peach Bands Resistance Bands Set or one-pound dumbbells make great options.

"I always recommend going for walks while you’re having your morning coffee to wake your body up! If you don't have a gym, doing bodyweight exercises such as squats, lunges, crunches, and push-ups will keep you in shape," says Joyce.

Fisher also adds, "mat Pilates and low-impact strength workouts are the best workouts to do when traveling." She recommends these because they focus on proper postural alignment, breath work, core stability, and movements that combine full body strength and flexibility, which are perfect for recovering from long travel days. "Often, I catch myself feeling calm and relieved from mental and physical tension after completing these workouts."

"Make your transportation your exercise! Swap out the subway or taxis for walking when you can," says McEwen. "Incorporate day time activities such as hiking, swimming, or bike rides into your itinerary,"

"If you’re spending a lot of time in a car or on flights, schedule a long walk when you get to your destination. It's a great way to explore the new area and get your blood flowing," she adds. "To stay on track, plan your workouts ahead of time or do them first thing in the morning."

"Get creative with props," says McEwen. "Use towels for a mat, water bottles for hand weights, small towels for gliders, or just your own body weight. Do your workouts beachside, poolside, or in the park! If you’re used to working from home or the gym, this is a great opportunity to change up your environment."

Joyce recommends using social media to quickly and easily find workouts you can do anywhere. "My TikTok workouts are the best for couples to do when you don't have access to a gym or even just in your hotel room! Most of them can be done without any equipment," she says.

Fisher recommends team EMPWR, available on the Ladder app. "The ladder app is the number one strength training app and gives you a workout for every day of the week. On this app, you will experience in-ear coaching, video demonstrations, and precise pacing built-in. The best part? You can play your own music all while being coached by some of the top coaches in the world," she says.

Burke also suggests using her app, Brooke Burke Body: "It offers workouts that can be done anytime, anywhere, by any body. You don't need any equipment and you can download your favorite workouts to your device before a trip so you don't even need a wifi connection," she says.

Brooke also recommends a meditation app to help slow down. "I'm a big believer in the mind-body connection, which is why I love Calm. I believe in the importance of creating a mindful space, focusing on your breath, and incorporating positive mantras and self-talk."
