New exercise equipment has been installed at Rockwell Park

BRISTOL - Four new outdoor exercise stations have been installed at Rockwell Park, completing the second phase of planned equipment upgrades intended to provide more access to city residents.

This phase of equipment upgrades saw the installation of four new outdoor workout stations at the field adjacent to the pond at Rockwell Park earlier this month. These stations will compliment the previously installed outdoor workout equipment, which replaced the playground near the Mrs. Rockwell Pavilion earlier this year. All of the new equipment is weather proofed.

The new station includes a vertical climbing wall, a monkey bars-like "turbo challenge", hurdles and a "Combi 5 Pro" workout station, which features a wide variety of equipment for arm and leg exercises.

"We are very excited that all of our equipment is now in place," said Joshua Medeiros, superintendent of the Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services Department. "It will provide a great opportunity for residents to come out, enjoy our parks and utilize free, accessible fitness equipment. These workout stations with their state of the art equipment will be big for improving the health and wellness of Bristol residents."
